Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 tsp maple extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar on medium-high until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and completely combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low speed just until flour streaks disappear.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and roll each ball in granulated sugar until evenly coated.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are set. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, maple extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
