Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 tsp maple extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar on medium-high until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Beat in the egg, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and completely combined.
  3. Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix on low speed just until flour streaks disappear.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and roll each ball in granulated sugar until evenly coated.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are set. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
  8. Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, maple extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
